NEW YORK--The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced that it will be the beneficiary of the opening night benefit preview for The Art and Antique Dealers League of America (AADLA) inaugural Spring Show NYC at the Park Avenue Armory on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Guests at the preview will discover a special selection of animal-themed artworks at each of the 65 dealer booths, with a portion of proceeds from those works going to the ASPCA.

"Much like art, animals have the ability to fulfill and enrich our lives," said Sean O'Connor, vice president of special giving for the ASPCA. "We are honored to be selected as the opening night beneficiary."

"The Art and Antique Dealers League of America is thrilled to partner with the ASPCA and 1stdibs.com to debut our fine and decorative arts fair," added Clinton Howell, the league's president. "By donating a percentage of sales of animal-related objects, our dealers are keeping in the spirit of this worthwhile organization," Howell said.

A wide variety of animal-themed items will be available at the opening night preview to appeal to all types of art and animal enthusiasts. Highlights include ritual and ceremonial objects, playful sculptures, furniture and home décor pieces, and classic paintings.
